Overview
JMS Stylet Oil is providing growers with a highly refined technical grade mineral oil to control fungal diseases, insect pests, and viruses by smothering the pest, by dislodging the pest from the host, and by disrupting the cell walls of the pest. It controls viruses by controlling the insect vector. Some of the pests that JMS Stylet Oil controls is powdery mildew, mites, scale, thrips, and leaf miners. Adding horticultural oil to the spray mix can increase its persistence within plant tissue.
The purity (or unsulfonated residue) of the base oil used in Stylet-Oil is 99.1%. As a result, there are no aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g. benzene, toluene and xylene), which cause air pollutants and are carcinogenic, and the oil causes less phytotoxicity in plants. Do not apply when temperatures are below 50° or above 90°.
