As a fertilizer it has an analysis of (3-2-2 + minerals) and is a balanced fertilizer loaded with micro nutrients. The alfalfa plant has a deep root system that draws up minerals below the earth's surface. It's an excellent soil conditioner that increases microbial activity in the soil.

After testing garden and yard soil, I discovered I needed to add some nitrogen. Researching the best organic amendment, I came upon this product. My 50 lb bag arrived when and how advertised. I spread it in my gardens. Time will tell if the amendment actually works, but it sure smelled good when I opened the bag and spread it around. Smelled like spring . . .

To anyone who loves and grows roses, this is a product you will love. Most rosarians don't know about the mixture for roses that is better than any fertilizer and I try to share it when I can.
To each bush ass 2 cups alfalfa meal, 1 cup cotton seed, 1 cup milorganite, and 1 tbl of Epson Salt and mix into soil. You will have beautiful plants with dark green leaves and lots of roses.
